Couple Itinerary: Day One
10 am–12:30 pm: Visit Historic Sauder Village. Take time to explore what you love most! Love crafts? Visit with our many talented craftsmen. Enjoy antiques? Spend time exploring our expansive Museum Building. Love gardening? Take time to explore the many historic gardens throughout the Village.
12:30 pm: Enjoy a relaxing lunch at our Barn Restaurant.
1:30 pm: Spend the afternoon exploring Ohio’s historic past! Step back in time as you travel from Natives & Newcomers (1803-1830) to Pioneer Settlement (1830-1870) and finally stop by the Grime Homestead (1920s). Be sure to allow time for a relaxing ride on the horse-drawn carriage, some unique shopping and a hand-dipped ice-cream cone.
Couple Itinerary: Day Two
Why not extend your stay with a two-day (or more) getaway! Consider our Romantic Getaway Package (includes an overnight stay, Barn gift certificate, gift basket with wine or sparkling juice, Stella Leona Artisan chocolates and meat & cheese tray). Relax in our hot tub and enjoy reading a book or playing a game together at one of the many gathering spots throughout the Inn.
9 am: Enjoy breakfast under our Great Oak Tree and spend time in our atrium area — swimming, playing games or just relaxing together. Check out the great exercise room or take a walk together around Little Lake Erie.
11 am: Take a drive to the nearby Lockport Covered Bridge. Nature lovers may enjoy a walk through Goll Woods State Nature Preserve too (just remember the bug spray)!
Noon: Return to Sauder Village to enjoy lunch at the Barn Restaurant or Village Café. Or, head to nearby Archbold to enjoy a meal at another local restaurant.
1–5 pm: Head to back to the Historic Village for another afternoon of fun experiencing Ohio’s historic past! Be sure to allow plenty of time for shopping at our Lauber’s General Store, Gift Shop, Quilt Shop and the Sauder Store & Outlet. Looking for other options? Consider visiting some local antique shops, wineries or the nearby Candy Cane Christmas Shoppe.
