On Thursday, March 8^th the Toledo Symphony Orchestra will present an evening concert in Founder’s Hall at Sauder Village. The performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is co-hosted by the Black Swamp Arts Council and Sauder Village.

“This is the 29^th year this highly respected orchestra has presented a community concert in Archbold and it is always an honor for us to welcome such talented musicians to Sauder Village,” shared Kim Krieger, PR/Media Relations at Sauder Village.

Tickets for the Toledo Symphony concert are now on sale. The concert tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 800.590.9755 or stopping by the Welcome Center at Sauder Village. All general admission tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.

Resident conductor Sara Jobin will lead the evening performance at Sauder Village. A Grammy-nominated conductor, Sara Jobin has a passion for opera, new and American repertoire, and sacred music. Ms. Jobin is Chief Conductor of the Center for Contemporary Opera in New York, Interim Resident Conductor of the Toledo Symphony, and Associate Conductor of the Toledo Opera.  She has guest conducted the opera companies in Arizona, Pittsburgh, Santa Barbara, Anchorage, Tacoma, and Idaho where she is Music Director of the Made In America series. She has also conducted the Dayton Philharmonic, Symphony Silicon Valley, Orchestra of St. Luke's, and the Bochumer Philharmoniker. She has led American operas in Szeged and Avignon and brought one in workshop form to Shanghai. Her first full-length recording, the hilarious Volpone by John Musto, was nominated for a 2010 Grammy for Best Opera Recording.      This year’s concert is sure to delight music lovers of all ages. The program includes a wonderful mix of musical selections. Some highlights of the Archbold program include Lyric for Strings by Walker, Carousel Waltz by Rodgers, Lord of the Dance by Hardiman and West Side Story Suite by Bernstein.

The evening concert also provides a great reason to arrive at Sauder Village early to enjoy a delicious meal at the Barn Restaurant. This is the 16^th year for the Black Swamp Arts Council to co-host this popular event with non-profit Sauder Village. The 2018 concert is also underwritten by the Farmers & Merchants State Bank and Parkview Physicians Group.
