On Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5, doll lovers from throughout the Midwestdoll_sale_400_400 will be gathering in Archbold for the 35th Annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show and Sale as well as the popular Antique Bicycle Event. With doll and teddy bear exhibitors, a doll lecture, doll appraisals, special activities for children, antique bicycles and many unique experiences in the Historic Village – there will be plenty for guests to enjoy throughout this fun-filled weekend.

Through the years the Sauder Village Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale has maintained a reputation for its impressive scope of quality collectibles. For the 35th Annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show and Sale, Founder’s Hall will be filled with vendors showcasing their treasured dolls and bears. At this always-popular show guests can shop and enjoy an excellent variety of high-quality items including antique dolls, original dolls, teddy bears, and modern collectibles. Also available will be vintage toys, accessories, supplies, artist reproductions, clothing, doll furniture, books and patterns. This is an exciting opportunity to view an unusually extensive assortment of quality merchandise and meet other doll collectors who share the same passion for quality, craftsmanship and uniqueness.

Again this year a special doll lecture will be held on Saturday evening during the event.  Spaces are still available for the evening dinner lecture presented by special guest Cindy McGuire at the Barn Restaurant. For more details or to register call Sauder Village at 1-800-590-9755 or visit the website at www.saudervillage.org

Again this year the Ann Arbor Doll Collectors Club will be offering a free craft activity for children as well as a Doll Photo Booth. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite doll to “dress up” and pose their doll for a picture! A variety of doll-themed activities are also taking place in the Historic Village. Throughout the day on Saturday, August 4 children make yarn dolls, clothespin dolls, wooden bead dolls and popsicle-stick ballerina dolls!

This weekend is also the Ohio Wheelmen's 22nd Regional Meet at Sauder Village! The Wheelmen is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to keeping alive the heritage of American cycling, promoting the restoration and riding of early cycles (1918 or earlier), and encouraging cycling as part of modern living. There will be more than 50 antique bikes on display on the Village Green and a special antique bike parade will take place each afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Throughout the weekend guests will have the opportunity to interact with members of The Midwest chapters of The Wheelmen to ask questions, see demonstrations, and get an up-close look at these unique bicycles of days-gone-by!

The Doll Show and Sale runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4 and from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5. There is a “Show-Only” admission of $8.00, which must be purchased in Founder’s Hall.

Historic Sauder Village is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and each Sunday afternoon from noon-4:00 p.m. The Historic Village is closed on Mondays, except holidays. Admission is $17.00 for adults and $11.00 for students ages 6-16. Children 5 and under are always free with family and Sauder Village members receive free admission to the Historic Village for an entire year. Senior, Military and AAA discounts are also available. And again this year, children 16 and under are free every Sunday this season!
