This special event affords guests a greater appreciation of the talented craftsmen at Sauder Village, inspires guests to be creative and provides great memories for all involved. From basket making, pottery and making tin icicles to printing, woodworking, coopering and blacksmithing (extra fee) - this special event inspires you to explore different crafts and provides great memories for all involved.
Guests will also want to visit Founder's Hall to see the
Woodcarver's Show & Sale!
Enjoy a variety of fun activities:
Tin Shop – Make a tin icicle to take home
Print Shop – Make a bookmark
Basket Shop – Make basket cups
Pottery Shop – Try creating at the potter’s wheel
Natives and Newcomers – Make and decorate a mini tent to take home.
Weaving Shop – Practice weaving on a loom.
Grime Basement – Learn about dying yarn to be used in the Spinning Shop
Broom shop – Decorate a cake tester to take home
Black Swamp Cooperage – Help put togeher a bucket puzzle
Blacksmithing – Observe the blacksmith at his trade. (Make a hook to take home - $15 fee. For adults)
Garden Shed - Decorate and take home your own birdhouse
Cabinet Shop – Have fun building with wooden planks
Log School - Write with a quill pen at the Log School
Village Green - Tony Burroughs of Tony’s Carvings will be demonstrating chain saw carving throughout the day. Tony will create 4 to 5 unique pieces which will be raffled by the end of the day!
