Rug Hooking for Beginners: Develop a passion for rug hooking! Join instructor Kim Hirt in this class for beginners. Learn about the tools, supplies, and techniques to get started rug hooking. Students will choose either a “Holly” or “Snowman” design for their 8” x 8” hooked mat. You’ll learn about the effects of using wide cut or primitive style projects and narrow or fine cut projects and the cutters that create the wool strips or “worms” used to hook. You will be shown everything you need to know to hook and finish this piece. Get “hooked” on this timeless form of art!

Kimberly started rug hooking in 2007 and dyeing wool in 2012.
She is the owner of Because of Ewe, known for Kim’s vibrant, vivid color palate
of hand dyed wool. You’ll fall in love with her luxurious wools. Kim also hosts
a Wednesday Virtual Hook-In, blogs, teaches at various guilds and is working
toward rug hooking teaching certification from the National Guild of Pearl K.
