Toledo Symphony Concert

The Black Swamp Arts Council and Sauder Village welcome the Toledo Symphony to Founder’s Hall for the 35th year. We are pleased to be part of TSO’s Neighborhood Concert Series in 2025, helping bring the symphony to our rural neighbors. The Symphony offers a unique program each year, specially chosen for our audience creating a “lasting musical moment."

The conductor for this evening is Alain Trudel. See his bio further down on this webpage. 

Intermission with beverages provided and free will donation appreciated.  

 

General Admission - $18 – Available until March 12, or $20 at the door

General Admission attendees do not have assigned seating. Please arrive early to find an available seat in the auditorium. General Admission attendees may not sit in the reserved or patron sections at the front of the theater. General Admission is $20 at the door.

Reserved Seating - $25 – Available until February 14

Reserved Seating attendees will preselect their seats in a special section behind the patrons. Please pay for your tickets using this form and then call, email, or stop by the Welcome Center to pick out your seats and pick up your tickets.

Patron Seating - $60 – Available until February 14

Patrons receive roomy premiere seating at the front of the auditorium, a coupon for $5 off the buffet at the Barn Restaurant during the week of the performance, and recognition in the program. Your ticket price covers the generous donation of two tickets to our Youth Sponsorship program, enabling two local youths to attend for free. Please call or stop by the Welcome Center to pick out your seats and pick up your tickets.

About Toledo Symphony Orchestra 

Toledo-Symphony-logoThe Toledo Symphony Orchestra is a community-supported organization of professional musicians and teachers who deliver quality performance and music education for all. Formed in 1943 as The Friends of Music and incorporated in 1951 as the Toledo Orchestra Association, Inc., the Toledo Symphony Orchestra (TSO) has grown from a core group of twenty-two part-time musicians to a regional orchestra that employs sixty-nine professional musicians who consider the Toledo Symphony their primary employer, as well as numerous extra players annually as repertoire demands.

Alain Trudel Bio

Alain-Trudel2Eight-time Juno nominated and Emmy nominated, Music Director of the Toledo Symphony (USA) and of l’Orchestre Symphonique de Trois-Rivières (Qué) Alain Trudel was knighted by the government of Québec and received a Jubilee medal from the Queen of England.

Trudel was also music director of l’Orchestre symphonique de Laval (2006-2020) “Every so often a perfect listening trance can befall one" (Fanfare Magazine), the CBC radio orchestra from 2006-2009 “probably the best thing that's ever happened to the orchestra” (Vancouver Sun).

He has collaborated with many renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Herbie Hancock, Midori, Pinchas Zukermann, and Bradford Marsalis. 

Trudel has been a regular guest with the Opéra de Montréal as well as leading operas in Cincinnati, Québec and Toronto

Trudel is also an accomplished composer and the recipient of numerous awards and honours, among them the Choc de l’année du monde de la musique, Grand prix de l’académie Charles Cros, the Virginia Parker Prize

Hailed as “the Jascha Heifetz of the trombone” (Le monde de la musique) Alain Trudel is also one of the world’s most respected and renowned trombonists. in 2018 he was awarded the prestigious International Trombone Association Award for his outstanding contribution. A Yamaha artist for the last three decades the company has internationally distributed the Alain Trudel mouthpiece designed with his specifications and distributed around the world.
