Learn a truly unique and historic skill in this 2-day class. Coopering is the craft of joining wooden staves to create a container. Each student will complete a wooden bucket from cedar using hand tools and techniques coopers have been using for centuries.
From shaping the staves and bottom to assembling and banding the bucket, this hands-on class offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to step into the past and connect with history. Classes are held inside the Cooperage building at Sauder Village using vintage tools and techniques. Class size is limited allowing for one-on-one instruction from our experienced Cooperage staff.
