Learn the tools you’ll need to navigate the world of literary journals, including how to find submission opportunities, how to spot scams, and what you should be getting paid.
Students will leave the workshop with the following resources in hand:
- Information about writing guilds and how to utilize them
- List of submission opportunities and how to find them on your own
- A cover letter draft to use when submitting your work
- Guide to understanding appropriate market pay and selling creative rights
- How to use your short stories to cross-promote your other work

Autumn Owens Bio:
Autumn Faith Owens is an author and playwright based out of Northwest Ohio. Her short fiction and creative non-fiction have been featured in Daily Science Fiction, Stone Soup, and The Crossings. Her plays have been produced across the United States and Canada, and three of her one-act scripts are available for licensing through Brooklyn Publishers. Her writing has received accolades from the Kennedy Center ACTF and the YouthPlays New Voices Competition. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
