It is with heavy hearts that we announce
the cancellation of all Quilt Show Week 2020 activities at Sauder Village as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic. As one of the most respected and popular events in the Midwest, there were many aspects to consider, guidelines and restrictions to follow, & safety implications. With safety being our #1 priority for our teachers, exhibitors, students, volunteers, staff & the general public who participate and come from all over to enjoy this show, we have made this difficult decision.
Students --- If you pre-registered for classes, we are sending you an email with cancellation info & instructions. Please read it carefully and email your reply by July 1st.
Heritage Inn and Campground Reservations --
-All lodging reservations for Quilt Show week have been canceled. You do not need to contact the
Heritage Inn. If you have lodging reservations at other hotels, please contact them directly.
Quilt Registration --- Thank you to everyone who had already registered your work for this year’s exhibit, we hope you will participate in the 2021 exhibit.
Special Exhibits --- We will soon contact all 2020 Special Exhibit coordinators with 2021 updates.
Volunteers --- Thank you to each of you who volunteered to work at Quilt Show 2020, we hope you will join us as a Volunteer next year.
Support Sauder Village-- For the past 43 years, Sauder Village has been one of the largest area supporters of quilting. Sauder Village not only features and supports quilting but also other textile arts and techniques. The Quilt Show is the second largest event at Sauder Village.
Each year, the Sauder staff and volunteers go above and beyond to make Quilt Show an outstanding opportunity for artists of all levels to gather, network, learn, share, and enjoy their art and friendships - in an inclusive and supportive environment. This is shown in the exhibit - held in the beautiful Founder’s Hall where over 400 pieces hang each year. Through our classes and schoolhouse where outstanding teachers coach and demonstrate new and diverse techniques, encourage creativity, and help students to build skills and develop confidence. As a 501c3 public charity, Sauder Village’s mission relies on the generous donations of people like us who want to help preserve this special place. This organization is being hard hit by the pandemic and your support, would have a meaningful impact.
Will you consider donating to Sauder Village?
Moving Forward ---We want to assure you that we have already begun work on the classes, exhibits and events for April 28 - May 2, 2021 Also, be sure to “LIKE” our Facebook Page, we will soon be posting info & photos to help ease the pain of missing this year’s event. Plus, we have some fun surprises for you, as well as 2021 sneak peaks!
We hope that you & yours are safe and well. We will miss you this year, along with all the creative art you have created in these challenging times. We look forward to 2021!
