Fall Harvest is a wool applique on cotton mini wall hanging. In this class you will have the opportunity to learn tips and techniques from Lisa Bongean, national expert in wool hand applique. Lisa will also demonstrate a variety of hand embroidery stitches to enhance your finished project. This is fun project to introduce you to wool applique and embroidery with hands on instruction from Lisa.

This beautiful design may be finished as a wall hanging or pillow.

Finished size: 11.25” x 11.25”

Skill level: Beginner

What you will learn: Wool hand applique tips and techniques and a variety of hand embroidery stitches.

$25 Kit (required, payable to instructor), includes: pattern, fabrics for top and binding

Supplies Needed:

  • 13” square of batting
  • ½ yard of Heat N Bond Featherlite for applique
  • Small scissors for cutting fusible appliques (PG has a nice pair)
  • White liquid chalk marker
  • Chenille Needles - #24 and #22
  • Threads in the following size/colors: #12 perle cotton in colors #O513, O217, P6, 813, O506, H206, O505, P4, P9 and P12
  • Cutting mat, rotary cutter, rulers, basic sewing supplies, sewing machine
  • Aurifil  thread, #50 wt. to match project
  • Travel pillow for hand stitching (Optional)

Workshop Cancellation Policy: Cancellation Deadline, Friday, April 8, 2022.

Student workshop registrations are NOT TRANSFERRABLE. All cancellations must be administered by Sauder Village. Cancellations prior to April 8, 2022 will receive a refund of fees paid minus a 10% administrative fee. No refunds are given after April 8, 2022.  Cancelling students are responsible for any/all project costs they incur with their instructor. If classes do not meet a minimum number of students by April 22, 2022, Sauder Village may be forced to cancel the class and all class fees will be refunded.

Admission Passes: Students in Lisa Bongean’s Wednesday and Thursday workshops will receive one complimentary one-day pass to visit the Quilt Show and Historic Sauder Village for each full day class. This admission pass is NOT TRANSFERABLE and may be used on any day of the Quilt Show simply by giving their name at the Founder’s Hall Admission Desk.
