Learn tips and tricks to making hand stitching enjoyable and meditative. Hand stitches can provide a variety of textures and looks for your work. Learning how to start and stop without knots while using heavier threads, like pearl cotton, can elevate your work. We will practice hand quilting, sashiko, and big stitch techniques. Also discussed will be the effects of different threads, needles, and battings. This class is a great way to start adding hand stitches to your work.

Kit includes:

  • 2 Fabric Squares sandwiching a piece of batting
  • Tiger Tape
  • Samples of quilting thread and pearl cotton
  • Needles
  • Rubber Thimble, medium size

Cancellation Policy
• Student classes, gallery talk and lecture registration are NOT TRANSFERABLE. 
• Contact autumn.owens@saudervillage.org for any cancellations.
• Cancellations prior to April 5, 2024 will receive a refund of fees paid minus a 10% administrative fee.
• No refunds given after April 5, 2024.
• If classes do not meet a minimum number of students by Friday, April 19, 2024, Sauder Village may be forced to cancel the class and all fees will be refunded
