
Donna L Kooistra, AQS Certified Quilt Appraiser and Former President of the Professional Association of Appraisers of Quilted Textiles will be available to appraise newly constructed quilts, antique, traditional, and non-traditional quilts for insurance replacement value, fair market value, and donation value. For many years, Donna has participated in classes and lectures on fabric dating and identification, technique, construction, documentation, ethics, and current trends to determine values of quilted textiles offered by national quilt organizations as well as those by local shops and appraisers.
Quilt appraisals will be done at the Sauder Village Quilt Show in Founder’s Hall by appointment or by walk-in on Friday, May 5, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and by appointment only on Saturday, May 6. Advance appraisal registration is preferred. Once we receive your quilt appraisal registration, you will be contacted to set up an appointment time. Appointments are in 30 minute increments and will be filled in order of receipt of registration. Walk-ins will be seen as soon as possible. The appraisal fee is $75.00 per quilt. (If for any reason you cannot attend your appointment, your fee will be refunded less a 10% processing fee.) Quilt Show admission is required.
Quilt appraisals will be conducted at the Sauder Village Quilt Show in Founder’s Hall. Any quilts hanging in the show will be appraised during the course of the show with a written appraisal sent via mail after the event. Advanced appraisal registration is required at time of quilt submittal for the exhibit.
