Quilt entry requirements. Quilts must:
- Consist of three layers; two layers of cloth filled with batting material and held together by a stitched design, with stitching distributed throughout the work.
- Never have been shown in the main exhibit at previous Sauder Village Quilt Shows.
- Include significant piecing and/or applique which affects the overall design if pre-printed panels are included in the quilt top.
- Be quilted, either by hand or machine or both, in a process to separate it from the construction process. Quilting is defined as a running stitch through the three layers of material.

- Fit the size requirements and definitions of the selected category. Please carefully review category definitions and sizes before registering.
- Rag quilts, tied quilts, comforters with loft batting, and quilts with false backs are not eligible for entry into this show.
- Quilts must remain in the exhibit for the entire show until pickup of quilts on assigned date/time.
- To Qualify for Judging the quilt exhibitor must have had some part in making the quilt; either constructing the quilt top, quilting or both.
- Purchased quilts, inherited quilts and quilts received as gifts may be entered as EXHIBIT ONLY and will not be judged.
- Any quilt maker, for any reason, may enter their quilt as “Exhibit Only”.
- “Exhibit Only” and judged quilts will be hung together by category and the same guidelines will apply equally to both.
- Please indicate on your registration form whether each quilt is to be entered in the judging competition or for Exhibit Only.
- Submit a separate form for each quilt (maximum of three).
- Label each quilt with your name and phone number on the back of the quilt. Place label in the lower right side of the quilt back.
- Quilt hanging sleeves are not required.
- Quilt artists who have traveled nationally to teach and have published books or patterns must register in the “Masters Showcase” category. The exhibit director will personally contact all registered Master Showcase artists to discuss arrangements.
- Masters Showcase, Youth and special exhibits are for Exhibit Only.
- Written judging evaluations/comments are not provided for this show.
- Each quilt is subjected to the jurying process and those accepted into the show will be hung on Monday, May 1. Owners of any quilts not accepted into the show will be notified and arrangements may be made to pick up those quilts prior to the end of the show.
- Incomplete, torn, soiled, framed or mounted quilts do not qualify nor be accepted for the exhibit.
- All entries must be clean and unscented when received or they will not be accepted.
