Indian-corn-floral-spray-hooked-rugDESCRIPTION:

This is an open retreat focusing on helping students to hone and develop their wide cut hooking skills for cuts # 8 - # 12. Using a pattern of your choice or one of Gene’s many designs, he will help each student find dramatic, luscious colors that will make the rug POP!

In consultations before class, Gene will provide suggestions on how you can make your own specialty dyed wool for this project or Gene will dye wool for you. He will, of course, bring a rainbow of his own dyed wool to augment all projects being worked on.

If you so choose, you may also add either traditional proddy or shaped proddy elements to your rug. Many of Gene’s rugs “pop” due to the inclusion of very detailed, realistic prodded and 3-D embellishments.

The fusion of color, specialty wool made just for your specific project and Gene’s many tips and short cuts on how to bring additional precision to hooking will help each student produce a dramatic wide cut project!
