 Class Description:  Join Ali in this fun and creative workshop where you will learn 6 different techniques --- ruching, needle felting, fabric bundling, standing wool, clipped loops, and pleated shirring. These techniques will be used to fill the spaces in this charming leaf "sampler".

All these techniques can be used to enhance your future rug hooking projects --- adding interest, dimension and texture. Ali will share examples of several of her other projects in which she has incorporated these techniques to inspire you to color outside the lines. You may never go back to 100% hooking again!

Teacher will contact students prior to class:  No

Level:  Basic Skills – students must have basic rug hooking knowledge & experience.     

Supply description:  16” x 18” pattern on linen and all the hand-dyed wool and fibers to complete the project.

Students Need to Bring: Basic hooking supplies: a frame, scissors, hook, sewing needles & brown sewing thread.

Bio:
Ali has been teaching fiber art nationally and internationally since 1986. Her business, Ali Strebel Designs, is located in Dayton, Ohio; where she sells the extensive line of books and patterns she has published as well as hand dyed wool, yarn, roving and other fiber art supplies. She has also developed a line of fiber and fiber art inspired jewelry.

Beside her own books, Ali’s work has been featured in Rug Hooking Magazine’s Designs for Primitive Hookers, The Wool Street Journal and numerous other publications.

Specialties: Art of embellishing clothing, primitive stitchery, needle felting, punch needle, whimsical dolls, quilts, rug hooking and other fiber arts.
