DESCRIPTION:  Donna’s monochromatic rugs have won many awards and she'd love to share her knowledge and experience with you in creating a charming monochromatic seahorse in shades of blue.

A monochromatic piece uses a single color in a range of values that go from white to the darkest shade of the color. Donna uses eight values and she'll show you how to use them to create depth, texture, and contrast in a single image.

What you learn in this workshop will be useful not only in future monochromatic projects, but in how to see color and contrast in full color palettes of any rugs you hook.

Students will look at samples of Donna’s monochromatic rugs and she'll discuss how to hook in eight values. And then you'll strip wool in smaller cuts, #3-5 so you can get started on your seahorse pattern, which will be drawn in advance for you. You'll spend the rest of the class hooking and learning the ins and outs of seeing values in action.

This workshop will be fun, informative, and a class you'll really benefit from!

Teacher will contact students prior to class: Yes

LEVEL: Intermediate – students must have basic rug hooking knowledge & experience.
