DESCRIPTION:  

Tatiana-Knodel-poncho-hooked-floral-patternJoin this retreat and learn how to hook directly into fabric while hooking one of Tatiana’s fashionable poncho designs. The ponchos are made from either Verel or a wide-weave wool fabric – which makes them easy to hook!

Tatiana will share more than 20 years of her practical poncho tips for selecting the size of your poncho, transferring a design onto Verel and wool - without a hooked background, plus simple assembly steps. You will also learn how to apply proddy techniques and creative stitches when you are hooking wearable art.

Each student will be able to select both their poncho fabric and design from several options, when Tatiana contacts her students prior to class. A poncho and design on Verel is $50.00 and a design on wool is $65.00. The hooking wool and yarn cost will vary depending on the design you select. You will be hooking with cut #3.

The end result will be a unique and exquisite addition to your wardrobe. You’ll make a fashion statement when you wear it to your next hooking meeting or event!

STUDENTS NEED TO BRING:  Basic hooking supplies: a heavy duty 10” or 14” quilting hoop (a rug hooking frame can damage the poncho fabric), scissors, cutter, cutter blade #3, hook & a smile!

BIO: 

Tatiana is an Ontario Hooking Craft Guild certified rug hooking teacher since 2016 and has been hooking since 2008. She has hooked more than a hundred rugs and four of her pieces were featured in Celebrations. 

Making rugs is more than a hobby for Tatiana. She finds it’s a means of self-expression. Every new rug invites the use of different artistic elements and she is happy to share her experience with others.

Tatiana’s ponchos were featured in her September/October 2018 article in Rug Hooking Magazine and her sculpted piece - Four Seasons was exhibited in the Celebration 28 exhibit last year at Rug Hooking Week.
