Rainbow-Bellwether-Sheep-Ornament2Description:  Bellwether - a sheep that leads the flock often wearing a bell.

In this make it and take it workshop, you will learn the basics of “Punch Needle Rug Hooking”. We will be creating a colorful Bellwether sheep ornament.  Fun for beginners as well as those that may already be familiar with punch needle rug hooking.

We will start out with the basics. This will include how to measure the amount of yarn needed for a project as well as the 2 size stitches used with a regular size rug punch needle that makes a ¼ inch loop.  We will also discuss and practice how to punch with wool strips. (In the photos: the bird, pumpkin and Santa stocking were all made using a combination of yarn and wool strips.)

Frames and an Oxford punch needle (size 10 regular) will be available for use during the class and for those who wish to purchase them.

Everyone will leave the workshop with a finished 6” x 7” Bellwether sheep ornament and the knowledge and skills needed to start a larger project.
