English-Bouquet-NancyParcels

doorstop-floral-bouquet-hooked-Nancy-Z-ParcelsDescription:
This floral vase was fashioned after an antique English (iron) doorstop, which were a common necessity in English homes.

Primitive in its style and color palette, the pattern is hand drawn on a linen backing. The kit will include everything needed to hook and finish the piece. The project will be hooked in cut # 8 wool, using as-is and hand-dyed wools – with the addition of Sari ribbon, and even some recycled skirts linings. Finished, it measures 12” tall x 8” wide.

Nancy will also cover her tips, tricks and techniques on: how you can deconstruct wools and make them work to your advantage, how to use recycled woolens in your rugs, and how to add mixed media. In addition, students will be shown beading, and several other hooking stitch techniques that are used in this project. Finally, Nancy will show you the finishing techniques needed to turn your hooked floral vase into a English style Cottage Doorstop – or it can be finished as a small English Cottage Pillow, if you so desire.
