DESCRIPTION:
Learn how to create depth in flowers, pictorials, geometrics, people and even simple primitive rugs. Depth is created with a lot of things, such as changing the temperature of a color, or the brightness, but value does most of the work. When planning a rug, we often talk about color planning, but it is really value planning that makes the rug shine.
Students can bring any rug pattern, but if you are unsure which pattern will benefit the most from the class, you can discuss this with Cindi before the class. In fact, via telephone or video conference (all you need is a smart phone, tablet or computer), each student will have a planning session with Cindi in the months before the workshop. This will avoid that awkward first day of waiting for the teacher’s help. Start hooking right away or wait until the workshop to start hooking, you decide.
Students will be encouraged to work toward finding their own style and method of rug hooking. All cut sizes can be used in this retreat. There are no rules in rug hooking, only guidelines that you can choose to follow or not.
This is an open class with a focus on creating depth. Cindi has prepared many topics to talk about in class, but the class will morph into what the students in the class want to talk about. Cindi loves teaching (maybe even more than hooking) and shares freely. No question will go unanswered.
