Description: How many rugs do you have piled up, waiting for the edges to be bound? Are you unsure of which finish would look best? Bring them to this workshop and learn many different options for finishing them.
The finishing techniques covered will include: steaming your piece, 2 different styles of whipping with yarn, crocheted edges with wool fabric strips, binding with wool fabric, and several options for finishing a pillow.
Students should bring at least one of their completed hooked pieces to get help and ideas from the instructor. This is a hands-on workshop, so students will then get started on binding and finishing.
Kris will have an assortment of binding supplies available for purchase, including tapestry needles, twill tape, thread, yarn, and Eurosteam irons. She will also have her book The Grand Finale: Finish What You Start available at a discounted price for students who attend this workshop.
Teacher will contact students prior to class: No (but please contact Kris prior to class if you need a pillow insert.)
