Description:

Rug-Hooking-Flower-Dots-Wing-Bird-LeMoine-Fri-ADo you want to learn how to punch needle rug hook in 1 day? This is the workshop for you!

Kevin has geared his workshop to be an economical way to learn punch needle rug hooking without breaking the bank. This course will give you all your basics that are needed, plus hands on punching.

We will discuss the foundation for punch needle rug hooking: Oxford Punch Needles, techniques, spacing, troubleshooting, and finishing for monk’s cloth. We will also discuss materials such as yarn and wool strips, as well as other supplies and equipment, like frames, as well as resources. This is intended to be a low stress workshop and one to learn and complete your piece.

Students will select a pattern from 4 designs: Floral, Dove, Dots, or Door, prior to class, when Kevin contacts them. The finished size of the projects measures 6” x 6” and is on a 24” x 24” piece of Monk’s Cloth so that you may add to your piece to make it into a chair pad or anything else of your choice, at home. We will be using 100% wool, Briggs & Little, 4 ply yarn “Super” – in as-is colors. Each project will be in the colors shown in the photos. Students will have the opportunity to use during class or purchase: 15”x15” Gripper Frames and Oxford Punch Needles.

When you complete this workshop, you will be able to take additional courses and feel confident that you will be able to keep up and not stress out. This is a great course to take along with the Kevin’s Saturday Workshop “Shading & Sculpting with the Oxford Punch Needle.”
