Bio:
Rug hooking has been one of Theresa’s passions for 20 years. She enjoys traveling the country with her mom to attend rug camps and learn from primitive teachers. She has been teaching since 2014. Theresa enjoys helping others learn about primitive rug hooking and has authored several articles about her style in Rug Hooking magazine and The Art of Rug Hooking by ATHA. Her rug, Vintage Blooms, has been honored in Celebrations XXV, displayed at Sauder Village, and appears in Primitive Hooked Rugs for the 21st Century by Cynthia Norwood.
Theresa is the current president of the Denver Rug and Fiber Guild, an ATHA chapter, and co-chaired the Denver Biennial in 2019. She has recently built a rug hooking studio to her home and hosts small groups for hooking and primitive classes. Theresa holds a master’s degree in nursing leadership and works full time as a pediatric nurse consultant. She lives in Denver, CO with her fun husband, Richard Schafer.
