Description:

In this 1-day workshop, students will hook two 5” x 5” mats using a piece of wool that April has dyed using an origami dyeing technique that she has developed. The results create a stunning set of abstract sculptural 3-D mats that students will frame in two beautiful wooden boxes as a set. Students will finish this project in class and take home a gorgeous set of miniature art rugs. Every student’s rug will be unique, depending on the student’s selection of the origami dyed wool and the preferences the student has in hooking the free-style mats. The photo is a sample of the type of project we will be creating, not a replica of it.

While this is not a hands-on dyeing course, April will share how she dyes using this technique so that you will be able to go home and do it yourself.

You will want to create more of these stunning miniature abstracts for sure!
