These realistic wool pinecones on pine boughs are fun to make and in a variety of wonderful wool colors. Together they are displayed in a tobacco basket.

First, we will start with the pinecones. You will learn the techniques to shape the body of the pinecone, then create the scales using wool fringe.

Then we will move on to learn how to make the pine boughs, which is the same technique as making branches for a Wooly Pine Tree. Using the fringe and twirl method, you will create different length branches.

Mary will show you how to arrange the pinecones with the boughs, tape them together with floral tape and mount them onto the 10” square tobacco basket.

When complete, your tobacco basket with pinecones and boughs is a beautiful arrangement for your home!

Mary Annunziato has created and taught her own beautiful design of the "Wooly Pine" trees since 2012 and continues to design and create realistic style wool decor to bring the beauty of nature into the home, including: lavender, willows, wreaths, flowers, pine swags, carrots and more.

Her love of hand sewing, painting, and basket making are often incorporated into her wool handiwork. Mary teaches across the country at basket, gourd, painting and quilt conventions and guilds, as well as fiber and wool shops.

Mary’s business is called Wooly Pine and her Wooly Pine pattern line is sold at Dorr Mill Store & W Cushing & Co.
