Description:  Join Rae in exploring new ways to begin a three dimensional hooked sculpture. We will explore various base materials such as: wire, wood, screen, paper and fabrics to make an exciting armature (the foundation or the supporting structure) for your next or first 3D project.

Come prepared to nail, screw, glue, bend, scrunch or any way you can imagine to make that fabulous design that is formulating in your creative center.  The overall project can be any size from tiny to as large as you can carry. The materials used in this sculpture will include anything you find in your stash as well as what Rae has in hers – including wool and other materials. We will laugh and learn how creative we have always been and open new doors in your personal creations.

"Yes I can" is the only answer, you can make anything your inner artist imagines in a fun and artistic environment.  Bring an old or new UFO (unfinished object) and Rae will show you how to turn it into a whole new experience.  Explore this new frontier in hooking with Rae --- this is truly her favorite class to teach!

Hooked-rug-SculptureTeacher will contact students prior to class: Yes.

Level:  Intermediate - Students must have basic rug hooking knowledge and experience. No prior dimensional or sculpture experience necessary.

Supply Description:  Molding mesh, wire, metal, wood, stones, fabrics, glue, paint, and an assortment of surprises for you to select from.

Students Need to Bring:  Hooking supplies, yard stick, markers, scissors, cardboard, small treasures (driftwood, beads, sea glass, etc.,) and your imagination - be creative, bring that thing you found one day and knew it had a purpose.

Bio:  Art has been one the most gratifying areas of Rae’s life, as it has always brought her joy. She has worked in many mediums and loves them all. Although she has studied with many known artists, she is unschooled in the traditional sense. Rae feels her work comes from within and is her primary meditation practice.

Living in Vermont for many years, surrounded with the beauty and solitude of the “green mountains”, the four seasons continue to be an inspiration for her in Ohio now - with the many colors and wild life that parade across her view every day.
