Sometimes, it’s the simple things in life that are the most memorable . . .

Playing a game of checkers or exploring the candy counter at an old-time General Store, enjoying a home-style meal with friends or some fresh-baked cinnamon rolls from the bakery. While the Historic Village may be closed for the season, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy life’s simple pleasures – relax in the hot tub or near the crackling fireplace at the Heritage Inn, enroll in a class to learn something new, enjoy unique shopping and the warmth of genuine, old-fashioned hospitality. Plan a memorable getaway today at Sauder Village.

The Historic Village is closed until further notice.

The Historic Village will soon open for the 2020 season. Enjoy all we have to offer year-round . . . the Barn RestaurantDoughbox Bakery, Retail Shops, Sauder Heritage Inn and Founders Hall. Visit the Plan Your Visit page to learn more about all you can do at this Northwest Ohio destination.

Sauder Village Update – Monday, March 30, 2020

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we receive new information on the Coronavirus daily.  On Sunday, March 22, Ohio Governor DeWine issued an order for all persons to stay at home unless engaged in essential work or activity, beginning at 11:59 p.m.  March 23 through April 6.

On Sunday March 29, President Donald Trump extended the federal guidelines for social distancing to April 30.  During this directive, our Gift Shop, Quilt Shop and Welcome Center will remain closed.

The Historic Village will not open on April 29 as scheduled .  We will keep you informed as we learn more about when it is safe to open to the public.

Our Quilt Show April 29 – May 3 has been rescheduled for July 15 – 19.

Since essential businesses include restaurants for carry-out and hotels:

The Barn Restaurant will continue to be open for carry-out meals.  A list of specials for individual and family carry-out meals will be posted on our website & on social media daily. We recommend calling ahead to place your order. We would be happy to bring the meals out to your car if you want to drive up and pick them up.  Hours are from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday.  We are using the highest standards of cleanliness and safety by continuing best practices for food preparation as outlined by the Department of Health and complying with social distancing requirements.

The Doughbox Bakery will remain open for carry out and drive through, but hours are being adjusted to 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday, They will be closed on Sunday and Monday beginning April 5th

The Heritage Inn is open for business.  At this time the pool, fitness center & game room are closed as directed by the Ohio Department of Health.

We are all in this together and our primary goal is everyone’s health & safety.
