Group Exhibits

for Rug Hooking Week 2019

These contemporary collections represent groups of artists or guilds which have taken on projects with a common goal, parameters, and a deadline. The project might focus on a design, theme, color, technique, workshop or a challenge.

To accompany some of the Group Exhibits, we are offering a Retreat or Gallery Talk/Walk, for more information see our Retreat & Workshop pages.

This year’s Group Exhibits are filled with a diversity of topics, creativity of techniques and ingenuity of materials:

    • Cream City Rug Hooking Guild - Wing Chair Challenge
    • Miami Valley Rug Hooking Guild - Shaker Diamond Hit & Miss
    • U.S. Rug Hooking Artists - Here Comes Santa
    • U.S. Rug Hooking Artists - Ladies Night
    • U.S. Rug Hooking Artists - Wool Snapshots

If your group or guild would like to submit rugs for a Group Exhibit, please note:

  1. Your Group Exhibit Coordinator must submit a Group Exhibit - Application Form to the Director between September 1st, 2018 - April 1st 2019. (Group Exhibits will be accepted on a first come basis, until our designated exhibit space is full.«)
  2. The Director will contact the Coordinator with the status of their application. If accepted, the Coordinator will be asked to submit a “List of Participants” (with name, mailing address, phone number, & email address) by April 10th.
  3. The Director will then email each participant with information on the Group Exhibit, rug registration instructions & deadlines, and additional information on Rug Hooking Week & Sauder Village. (Group Exhibit rugs may not be registered until you have received these instructions and authorization from the Director.)
  4. Confirmed Participants should register their rugs, per instructions, by July 1st, 2019.

Coordinators --- Please consider timing when submitting a Group Exhibit Application, keeping in mind that participants must commit to the Coordinator well before April 1st, 2019 & have their pieces well underway or completed by the online rug registration deadline of July 1st 2019. Based on the timeline, you may decide to postpone your group exhibit for a year to ensure your group will meet the deadlines. These guidelines & deadlines are crucial to planning the Rug Hooking Week exhibit & signage, and providing participants with important & timely information, plus ensuring they receive admission passes. Thank you for your efforts and commitment to helping us achieve an outstanding exhibit each year.

(We will accept Applications for 2019 starting September 1, 2018 & ending April 1, 2019.) Thank You!
