Looking around the Barn Restaurant, you'll see the hand-hewn timbers that we believe were made by a construction crew from Fort Wayne, Indiana in about 1861, when the barn was originally built on the Mose Stutzman farm just 2 miles northeast of Sauder Village.
The aged barn began its new life in the winter of 1974 in a five-day journey across frozen fields to its present location at Sauder Village. On July 19, 1976, at the age of 115, the Barn Restaurant opened its doors as a full-service family restaurant.
All proceeds from the Barn Restaurant support the Historic Sauder Village and all its rich history. By dining with us, you'll be sharing our past and building our future. We hope you'll join us!
