Please Note: This is a three session class running Saturdays, October 3, 17 & 31, 2026 9:30 am – noon each day.
This is the perfect class for the aspiring quilt-maker! If you are ready to make your first quilt, we are here to help you.
The Beginner Quilt Making Class is broken into three sessions. Each session focuses on one part of the quilt making process.
ALL THREE SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED
Session #1 – Focuses on proper rotary cutting skills and accurate cutting of fabric
Session #2 – Focuses on sewing with an accurate ¼” seam and piecing blocks
Session #3 – Focuses on sewing blocks into rows and accurate methods for measuring and attaching borders
Class is taught by the Quilt Shop staff in the Welcome Center classroom

6 ½” x 24 ½” Ruler
45mm Rotary Cutter
Basic supplies – thread, pins, scissors, etc.
We will have rotary cutting mats and irons available to use; you may bring your own small iron and mat if you choose. New to rotary cutting? Call or stop by The Quilt Shop to schedule an individual Rotary Cutting Basics lesson prior to class.
You will need to have basic working knowledge of your sewing machine prior to Session #2, including how to thread your machine and fill your bobbin.

Minimum Enrollment and Inclement Weather Policy: Sauder Village reserves the right to cancel if the minimum enrollment has not been met or in case of inclement weather. If this happens, Sauder Village will notify you as soon as we have made that decision and you will be issued a full refund.
