Looking for a creative & relaxing weekend in the beauty of the rural countryside?
Join friends and fellow rug hookers for three days of rug hooking at the Sauder Heritage Inn. Whether you are starting a new project or focused on completing a work in progress, this self-guided retreat is for you! All skills levels are welcome.
Rug Hooking & punch needle enthusiasts like yourself will gather in the spacious and well-lit Homestead meeting room at the Sauder Heritage Inn, where you can spread out your work, be encouraged & productive, connect with others, and have fun!
You set your own schedule for the weekend! Take advantage of the comforts of your room to sleep-in, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Oak Tree, or soak up some quiet time by the lobby fireplace. Pack a swim suit so you can enjoy the waterfall pool at the Inn, take a nature walk along our Wetlands Trail, or watch the sunset over cornfields from the courtyard at the Inn. The Sauder Village campus has much to offer during your stay with us!
The retreat room is open daily 8 am until midnight. Catered lunches are served in the retreat room at 12 noon and dinners are at 5:30 pm. At some point during the weekend there will be a “throw down” to show off your project!
We also give daily door prizes of handcrafted artisan items from Sauder Village’s own craft shops.
3-Day Retreat Fee: $165/$155 Sauder Village Member. Your retreat fee includes lunch & dinner Friday & Saturday and lunch on Sunday, along with snacks, beverages, and artisan made daily door prizes. Space is limited to 45 people.
Please Note: Registration deadline is October 9th at 12 noon.
Optional Thursday Night Hook-In – Includes early access to the retreat room starting at 3 pm, October 22nd. Additional $20 fee.
Optional Market Table – Do you have wool, patterns, tools or equipment you no longer need? Register for a Market Table. $5 reserves a half table for you to sell your items. You are responsible for managing all items you sell. Limited to 16 people.
Lodging
A block of rooms is reserved offering a special discounted rate for retreat attendees. A Group Reservation ID# is required at the time of reservation. The ID# will be listed in your registration confirmation email. Once you receive your confirmation, call the Heritage Inn at 800-590-9755 to reserve your room. The Inn offers an expanded continental breakfast each morning for registered guests.
Cancellation Policy

Refund Policy:
All cancellations made prior to thirty (30) days from the start of the retreat shall receive a refund of your registration minus a 10% processing fee.
No refunds will be given after thirty days from the start of the retreat or for no shows. Please note: if you register for a retreat within the thirty-day window and then cancel, you will not receive a refund.
The refund policy is in place to support and honor our staff of our nonprofit who invest time and resources in preparing these events. We understand that extreme circumstances do happen. In this case, please contact us to discuss options.
Minimum Enrollment and Inclement Weather
Sauder Village reserves the right to cancel the retreat if minimum enrollment has not been met or in the case of inclement weather. In cases where Sauder Village cancels the retreat, you will be notified as soon as we make that decision and will issue you a full refund.
