Description
Have you ever wanted to try wool applique, but didn’t know where to start?
This is the perfect project for a beginner using Long May She Wave, a pattern by Primitive Gatherings.
Students will learn to cut your wool pieces using a pattern, learn about various ways for securing wool layers, and basic embroidery stitches to accent your hand stitched keepsake piece. In addition, students will learn how to adapt the pattern for use with other mixed fibers and stitch embellishment for additional creative projects. Class time includes 2 hours of guided instruction and up to 1 hour of individual stitching time with the instructor available to help troubleshoot and answer questions as you stitch.
Students will be able to complete this project as a simple mat, pincushion or other decorative piece.
Location: Carolyn Sauder Education Center
Class Fee: $75/$70 Sauder Village Member. Fee includes Primitive Gatherings pattern & wool, Valdani thread, chenille needle, needle threader, & small pair of scissors ($47 retail value).
