Are you ready to make your first quilted bag? 

Students will receive step-by-step instruction from seasoned quilting instructor, Sheryl Rathge. You will choose your own colorway of three different fabrics to construct a stylish signature multi-purpose bag. From assembling the layers of fabric and stabilizer and quilting the outside panels to stitching the liner and adding binding and handles, Sheryl will guide you every step of the way!

This is the perfect class for a skilled beginner sewer. Must be comfortable with sewing 1/4″ seams, measuring and cutting fabric, and following instructions.

Location: Welcome Center Classroom

Class Fee: $40/$35 Sauder Village Member

Registered students receive a 10% discount on all project supplies purchased at the Sauder Village Quilt Shop.

All items are available at The Quilt Shop at Sauder Village. Participants will receive a 10% discount on class supplies.

• Quilter’s Tote Bag pattern by Minki Kim
• Three, 1-yard pieces of coordinating fabric
• 1-yard Foam Stabilizer – In-R-Form single sided fusible
• 2-yards of 1.5” wide cotton webbing or polypro strapping
• Coordinating threads for topstitching
• 6 ½” x 24 ½” Ruler
• 45mm Rotary Cutter
• Basic Sewing Supplies
• Sewing Machine with Walking Foot (sometimes called Even Feed Foot)

Rotary cutting mats and irons will be available to use; you may bring your own small iron and mat if you choose.

Refund Policy:
Cancellations will receive a refund of your registration minus a 10% processing fee.  No refunds for no shows.

Minimum Enrollment and Inclement Weather Policy:

Sauder Village reserves the right to cancel if the minimum enrollment has not been met or in case of inclement weather. If this happens, Sauder Village will notify you as soon as we have made that decision and you will be issued a full refund.
