From a moving naturalization ceremony to Dixieland jazz, a picnic on the grounds, and a hearty breakfast buffet — there’s no better place to mark the milestone. Ohio’s largest living history museum brings 50 years of history to life for the whole family.

Naturalization Ceremony
Watch new Americans take the Oath of Allegiance on the Village Green.
Live Music
The Fort Defiance Dixieland Jazz Band performs throughout the ceremony.
10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Picnic Lunch
Purchase a hotdog or sandwich combo at the Soda Fountain and enjoy it anywhere on the grounds.
A New Chapter for New Citizens
In a powerful, distinctly patriotic moment, people born around the world take the Oath of Allegiance and become United States citizens.
Included with Historic Village admission.
Picnic on the Grounds
Sauder Village joins Ohio’s statewide “America 250 Homecoming and Picnic.” Purchase lunch at the Soda Fountain and enjoy games and activities all day long.
