Our staff is committed to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety and are committed to the best practices for sanitation in the shop. At this time we are requiring all guests to wear a mask inside the shop and we understand that not all people can wear a mask. If you are unable to wear a mask, we will still be offering pick up. We will only be allowing six (6) customers in the shop at a time. When you arrive, please check if there is a STOP SIGN showing on the door. If so, please wait outside until another guest leaves the shop. We also ask that you be mindful of following the CDC guidelines and keep 6 feet away from other customers and staff while shopping. We would appreciate if you pay with a credit or debit card.

Again we hope you are all doing well and we look forward to seeing you again and helping you with all of your quilting needs.

Threads of Tradition, the Quilt Shop at Historic Sauder Village, celebrates the rich heritage of quilting that has been handed down to us and actively encourages the growth and development of this heritage art form. While we love the antique and classic quilts, we also enjoy working with modern designers’ fabrics and patterns. Visit our shop and you'll see hundreds of quilt samples in a wide variety of styles; we intentionally challenge our staff and teachers to try new things in an attempt to provide options for every taste and style of quilting. In addition to quilt designs, sewists looking for boutique-style bags will find a good selection of patterns for children and women’s fashion accessories.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff is always available to assist the quilt and sewing enthusiast in making selections from over 3,500 bolts of top-quality cotton fabric, which covers the full spectrum of reproductions, baby and children’s fabrics, novelties, contemporary and batiks. Along with our vast array of cotton fabric, we also carry flannel, canvas and wool. You will also find an ever-changing variety of books, patterns, notions and gift items including handbags by Stephanie Dawn.

Our spacious, well-lit shop features over 3,000-square feet of space devoted to displaying many quilt samples, kits and everything needed to make the quilt or sewing project of your dreams. Whether you are shopping for a specific project, looking for inspiration or just need a fabric “fix,” stop in often for a visit with our staff and to see what's new. We're always glad to see you and enjoy seeing your latest fabric creations.

Browse through our shop to see samples of current classes or chat with our volunteer quilters who demonstrate hand-quilting skills most weekdays throughout the year. Although Threads of Tradition is located inside the Historic Village, we are open year-round and there is never an admission fee to shop. During the Historic Village open season, simply request a shopper’s pass at the Admissions Desk and come out to visit us! Or, better yet, purchase an annual membership to Sauder Village which includes free admission to the Village and all festivals, including the Sauder Village Quilt Show, for one full year as well as a 10% members discount in all the Village retail shops, classes and retreats.
