State & National Recognition


 
Award Sauder Village

Pioneer Settlement, which opened on August 22, 2009, received the following national and state recognition:

  • American Association for State and Local History 2010 Leadership Award
  • Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums 2010 History Outreach Award

Grist Mill Renovation & new temporary Grain Exhibit (Grain: From Field to Flour) opened May 10th, 2014, received the following state recognition:

  • Ohio Local History Alliance 2014 Outstanding Achievement Award
  • Nomination submitted, awaiting decision on American Association for State and Local History 2015 Leadership in History Award for the Grist Mill.
 
Award Sauder Village

It is such an honor to have the new additions to Historic Sauder Village recognized by history professionals at both the state and national level. Some of the awards we have received include:

Natives & Newcomers: Ohio in Transition (1803-1839) was completed in 2003 and received the following national and state recognition:

  • American Association for State and Local History 2005 Certificate of Commendation presented at the Annual AASLH Banquet.
  • Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums History Outreach Award presented at the OAHSM Awards luncheon in 2004.
  • Ohio Museums Association’s 2003 Outstanding Achievement Award for Institutional Excellence awarded at the annual OMA conference in 2004.
