Join friends and fellow rug hookers at the Sauder Heritage Inn for a relaxing atmosphere of hooking. Whether you are starting a new project or focused on completing a work in progress, this self-guided retreat is for you!
- Did you attend a workshop at Rug Hooking Week or a camp this summer, start a new piece and need time to work on it?
- Have a WIP that is calling your name?
- Need to be surrounded by positive and inspiring people?
All skills levels are welcome regardless if you are a seasoned hooker or new to the craft. The Winter Rug Hooking Retreat is wonderful place to gather with other artists for a creative weekend away. There is no guided instruction or teachers at this retreat. However, there will be many friendly helpful rug hookers in attendance.
What to expect…
Rug Hooking enthusiasts like yourself, will gather in the spacious and well-lit Homestead meeting room at the Sauder Heritage Inn, where you can spread out your work, have fun catching up with friends, be encouraged, delighted, and productive.
Meals
Healthy, refreshing lunch and dinner each day & included in your retreat fee.
Options
Choose either a 2- or 3-day retreat package with an optional early hook-in on Thursday evening for a minimal additional fee.
What’s included?
Your retreat fee includes all meals, Doughbox Cookies and artisan made daily door prizes.
What to bring?
Be sure to bring all supplies needed to hook including a cutter, wool, tools, pattern, frame, etc.
Lodging
A block of rooms is reserved offering a special discounted rate for retreat attendees. A Group Reservation ID# is required at the time of reservation. The ID# will be listed in your registration confirmation email. Once you receive your confirmation, call the Heritage Inn at 800-590-9755 to reserve your room. The Inn offers an expanded continental breakfast each morning for registered guests.

2-Day Retreat (Friday, January 30 & Saturday, January 31).Includes your retreat fee, 3 meals, Doughbox cookies, and artisan made door prizes. Retreat opens at 8 a.m. on Friday and ends at 4 p.m. on Saturday. $135/$125 Sauder Village Member

3-Day Retreat (Friday, January 30 – Sunday, February 1). Includes your retreat fee, all meals, Doughbox cookies, and artisan made door prizes. Retreat opens at 8 a.m. on Friday and ends at 4 p.m. on Sunday. $165/$155 Sauder Village Member.

Optional Thursday Night Hook-In – Includes early access to the retreat room starting at 3 p.m. Additional $20 fee.
Optional Market Table –
Do you have wool, patterns, tools or equipment you no longer need? Register for a Market Table. $5 reserves a half table for you to sell your items. You are responsible for managing all items you sell.
$5 for half table. Limited to 16 people.
Space is limited to 64 people.
Cancellation Policy

Refund Policy:
All cancellations made prior to thirty (30) days from the start of the retreat shall receive a refund of your registration minus a 10% processing fee.
No refunds will be given after thirty days from the start of the retreat or for no shows. Please note: if you register for a retreat within the thirty-day window and then cancel, you will not receive a refund.
The refund policy is in place to support and honor our staff of our nonprofit who invest time and resources in preparing these events. We understand that extreme circumstances do happen. In this case, please contact us to discuss options.
Minimum Enrollment and Inclement Weather
Sauder Village reserves the right to cancel the retreat if minimum enrollment has not been met or in the case of inclement weather. In cases where Sauder Village cancels the retreat, you will be notified as soon as we make that decision and will issue you a full refund.
