What better place to celebrate Independence Day than at Ohio's largest living-history village! Join us for a day filled with special activities from hand-cranked ice cream and old-fashioned games to patriotic songs being played on the reed organ. On July 4, starting at 11:00 a.m. the U.S. District Court Naturalization Ceremony will be held on the Village Green - the last step in the process to become a new United States citizen. Bring the whole family for this memorable experience.

On Saturday, July 1,  learn to play cricket – a fun game of yesteryear! Tom Melville, an American cricket player, teacher, and author, will be teaching the sport. He has published widely on the history and culture of American cricket with his book The Tented Field: A History of Cricket in America. A graduate of Ripon College and the University of Whales, he lives in Wisconsin.

In honor of their service to our country, all veterans and active duty military will receive free admission to Sauder Village for the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Weekend.  As part of the Blue Star Museum program, Sauder Village also offers free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families every day through Labor Day weekend. The Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the Department of Defense.
